Edi and Matthew had a perfect fall wedding in Boston! We started the day with Edi getting ready at the Colonnade Hotel. We made our way to the Boston Public Garden for a lovely first look. The garden was just starting to show fall colors and I was so happy we able to take advantage of that! After formal photos in the garden, we headed back to the hotel for Edi and Matthew’s ketubah ceremony. This is when the bride and groom sign the traditional Jewish marriage contract. It was such a special moment! After the ceremony, guests headed up to the roof of the hotel for the cocktail hour amid the sparkling lights of the Boston skyline. Then, back to the ballroom to celebrate. Edi chose a lovely muted fall palette for her flowers complimented with pink up-lighting. It was so elegant! Take a look at some of my favorite images from the day.
Edi had a blast getting ready with her bridesmaids. They were all very close and it showed! We had a great moment when they all battled to choose what set of earrings Edi should wear. As it should be, mom won the battle.
It was a gorgeous day in the public garden for their formal photos. The first look was super sweet. There were plenty of people in the park that day. But you would have thought Edi and Matthew were the only ones there. Oh! And I’m totally obsessed with Edi’s bouquet!
Edi’s wedding was classic and elegant. So I was totally feeling the black and white! I loved the moment when Edi’s dad lifted her veil and gave here away. Edi and Matthew proceeded to circle each other at the top of the aisle. This is a lovely tradition in the Jewish wedding ceremony that has a few interpretations. My favorite is that it symbolizes the creation of the bride and groom’s new family.
The rooftop of the Colonnade hotel is a truly special place. You get the feeling you’re in a lovely oasis in the middle of the bustling city. I loved that we were able to sneak in the corner and catch a few images of Edi and Matthew together!
