When I met with Niccole and Rob to discuss their wedding photography, they described their decor as a “flower explosion.” They weren’t kidding! With the help of the amazing Monique Jeffrey at Willowdale Estate (I can’t thank her enough for giving them my name!), the couple transformed the Willowdale Estate with more flowers than I’d ever seen at a wedding. It was absolutely stunning. Niccole and Rob knew exactly what they were after for photography as well. They didn’t want to miss a moment. Myself and two other fabulous photographers (along with three videographers and a drone from Next Level Films) spent eleven hours covering their entire day. And while the decor was spectacular to shoot, the love affair between Niccole and Rob was even more beautiful. Rob’s seemingly “tough guy” exterior totally melted when he spoke the most passionate vows he wrote personally for Niccole. And Niccole almost broke down when they shared a private and emotional “first touch” in the upstairs of Willowdale Estate. I’m so excited to share some of my favorite images from the day.
Getting ready at Willowdale was a blast. Rob brought his barber (complete with barber chair) in for a close shave and a cut that morning. Niccole spent the morning in hair and makeup and sneaking peeks at the amazing transformation happening in the courtyard of Willowdale for their ceremony.
The first touch was beyond words and by far, my favorite part of the day. These two were so excited to get married, but couldn’t manage to let go of each other for the few minutes it would take to get down to the ceremony.
The ceremony was gorgeous. It was set in the round with swanky, white leather couches and a lovely, grass covered, raised stage. Niccole entered with a custom built wall of flowers behind her.
After the ceremony, we were able to sneak out into the quiet, wooded areas around Willowdale where I was able to capture the couple in the light that darted in and out of the trees. It was lovely.
By the time we returned to Willowdale, the tent was almost ready. It was spectacular with chandeliers and floral panels hanging from the ceiling. The soft, pink light also added a romantic feel to the space. And check out their perfect cake made by the famous Sylvia Weinstock. The cake topper and each one of those flowers is hand made and edible!
The celebration was fabulous from Niccole and Rob’s sweet first dance to the truly heartfelt toasts from friends and family. As the evening progressed, the soft, pink light became more vibrant and totally changed the ambiance in the tent.
The ceremony space was, once again, transformed (are you sensing a theme?) for dancing. The open-air space had swanky seating areas with chrome tables and fabulous disco lights.
Before the couple escaped in their antique Rolls Royce, we needed to sneak a night-time shot in front of the custom made signs that greeted their guests. Niccole and Rob did not miss a single trick!
